Polluting, open fires and inefficient stoves cause a range of harmful impacts that impede economic and social development in developing countries. Cleaner, more modern stoves and fuels have the potential to reduce deaths from smoke-related illnesses, mitigate climate change, and lower air pollution. They also can provide new sources of livelihoods for women—while reducing the risk and drudgery of fuel collection—and can lower household expenditures on cooking fuel. The Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) supports the development, sale, distribution, and consistent use of clean cooking solutions that transform lives.

Health
Replacing polluting open fires or inefficient stoves with cleaner, more modern stoves and fuels reduces emissions of toxic smoke, which lowers the burden of disease associated with household air pollution.
Climate & Environment
Clean cooking is vital to combating global climate change and reducing environmental degradation.
Project Gaia
Humanitarian
CCA is working to ensure that the 131 million people worldwide who need humanitarian assistance have access to cleaner, more modern stoves and fuels.
