MissionPFD has developed a gasification stove designed to use Jatropha as a biomass fuel.The cookstoves burn much cleaner than traditional stoves, and greatly improve air quality.In 2011, it is expected that JANI will have distributed 1,200 stoves.

Clean Cooking ActivitiesPFD is implementing the Jatropha, Agriculture and Nutrition Initiative (JANI) project in 18 districts in northern Tanzania, benefitting poor rural farmers. To date, JANI has benefitted 42,001 farmer households through 756 Jatropha producer groups.
