| Clean Cooking Activities | Green Bio Energy is producing Briketi (www.briketi.co.ug), the first charcoal briquette to be sold on a large scale in Uganda. At the beginning of 2013 the company was producing 1.5 tons daily and aims at producing 4 tons daily by the end of 2013. The company is also developing a network of small scale briquette producers (group of 5 to 15 people producing briquettes as a complement to their other activities) in the country side, in order to create income generating activities. In order to develop further the use and popularity of Briketi, the company is developing an energy saving stove specifically designed to fit the characteristics of charcoal briquettes. |
