José Urquilla is the Haiti Project Manager for the Clean Cooking Alliance. Prior to joining the Alliance, José managed democracy and governance regional and national programs in Latin America.
José has more than a decade of public policy and international development experience. He has served in both foreign and domestic roles with various international organizations including the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), Glasswing International, the European Commission, the International Republican Institute, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, and the United States Senate. José holds a joint master’s degree in Development Studies and Public Policy from Erasmus University Rotterdam and Central European University as well as a master’s degree in International Affairs from the Catholic University of America. He is fluent in French, English, Spanish, Italian, and German.
