Jescinta Izevbigie is the Manager of Gender for the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA). She oversees CCA's portfolio of gender and women’s economic empowerment programs, managing grants to local social enterprises to scale the sector through women’s entrepreneurship, providing technical and programmatic gender-sensitive capacity building support and supporting gender mainstreaming throughout CCA's household energy programs. Prior to joining CCA, Jescinta has worked in the field of international development for the past seven years with a focus on gender equality and its nexus within climate change, economic and political empowerment, conflict/post-conflict, and countering violent extremism. She has lived and worked in East, West, and Southern Africa, conducting research and implementing projects around gender equality and women’s empowerment. Jescinta holds a Master’s of Science in Gender, Development, and Globalization from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Science in Culture and Politics, as well as an African Studies certificate, from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.
